TaxaraTaking a UK bookkeeping platform from build to launch

In short

Taxara brings receipts, expenses, invoices and financial reporting into a mobile product for UK sole traders and small businesses. Afiniti Global and I were hired as lead contractor to build the platform from scratch.

Project relationship

Lead contractor · Technical consultant

Taxara hired Afiniti Global and me as lead contractor. We built, pilot-tested, launched and updated the platform from 2024 through early 2026. I now serve as a technical consultant.

Who it's for

UK sole traders and small businesses managing everyday financial administration.

What it does
  1. 1

Tracks income and expenses in one place.

  2. 2

    Captures receipts and supports invoicing.

  3. 3

Brings financial reporting, bank connections and MTD-related functionality into the product.

The challenge

Everyday bookkeeping involves several connected jobs: recording a purchase, keeping the receipt, sending an invoice and understanding the figures afterwards. Taxara brings those activities into one product for people running their own businesses.

The product brief sits at the intersection of accounting, fintech and software usability, with a focus on making routine financial administration more approachable.

From initial build to launch

Taxara hired Afiniti Global and me to build the platform from scratch. I led the contracted work through development, pilot testing, launch and subsequent updates between 2024 and early 2026.

This was my first major AI project. My work included model fine-tuning and organising delivery of the product’s AI work, alongside the wider platform engagement.

An ongoing technical relationship

I now advise Taxara on AI innovation and practical technical adoption. The focus is on ideas that can simplify UK accounting, fintech workflows and tax filing for its users.

The current product is accessible through its official iOS and Android listings. Those listings describe the app’s features; the delivery history here reflects my own project involvement.
